Cultural / Removal of Combustible Cladding
Spatial Ops was commissioned to laser scan the cladding material on the façade of Gab Titui Culture Centre, on Thursday Island (Waiben). The external material was flammable and therefore unsafe. It needed to be replaced due to the risk of fire, which could not only destroy the precious cultural artefacts housed in the building but lead to injury and death. Given that travel from Brisbane to Thursday Island and back is almost 10 hours, the fact that we can scan the building in only two days shows how Spatial Ops’ processes are cost-effective and smart.
